There is a document that spells out how this country is to be run. Your Democrats threw it to the curb in 1937 for the Great Society. Who got us into the financial crisis? Democrats giving hand outs to everyone. Banks were forced to make bad loans. Fannie and Freddie (government run corps) guaranteed the loans with your money. When it was determined that Raines cooked the books, it was the democrats who stood by him. If you like to be told what to do and how to do it, you will love this country under Obama. Some education on your part would make you understand.
Why do people assume we will repeat the last eight years? Is it because the ill-informed people can only repeat what their candidate states? Exactly who is the whole world? I like how you say Obama’s the socialist. It was Bush who proposed the 700 Billion Dollar Bail Out of Wall Street with the Tax Payers Money.
I love how Hannity and dem’ keep saying that we’re headed down the socialist road of redistribution of wealth when the only wealth that’s been redistributed thus far is the tax payers wealth to the rich who lost all of the money we gave them in the first place.
Personally, I don’t agree with the Bail Out. They wanted a free market economy, so I say we give it to them. A laissez-faire economy, by its very definition, should be allowed to stand on its own merits. You can’t preach deregulation from the hill-tops, and then come crawling back to the feds when you realize that greedy people tend to screw everyone over.
The Democrats have been warning us against deregulation since before I was born. An unregulated market is ran by the rich, and the rich would like to keep it that way.
Hell, that’s the way its suppose to be. The rich want to stay rich, the poor want to earn more, and it’s the governments job to make sure society can find a balance.
I hate to break it to you, Done, but a McCain presidency is nothing less of 8 more years of Bush. You’re talking about a candidate who appointed Sarah Palin as his running mate on a whim, and then let the Media vet her instead of doing it himself. Then, they wouldn’t let her give a single interview for three weeks after the convention.
You know why he did it. He did it because she’s a woman. Rush was laughing his ass off while Hillary Clinton did the GOP’s job for them as far as Obama goes, and then McCain chose a cutsy chick with about as much buisness in the oval office as I have, for the sole purpose to capitalize on the mess the Dem’s made of their base.
You’re talking about a man who said that the fundamentals of the economy were strong the same day our economy took a nose-dive that’ll be known in the history books as the Second Great Depression.

We went, as a nation, from being morally outraged at the thought of nation building, to literally going broke trying to right all the wrongs in the world. All the while our home land is falling to shit. We’ve spent a ginormous amount of money on a fundamentally idiotic war that maybe six people in the country still supports, a war that we would never have started if Bush didn’t out-and-out lie to us to justify. All the while, McCain was there giving him the buddy Christ and telling us we could trust the son-of-a-bitch.
So, excuse me when I say that I’d rather my house cat be president than John McCain. Obama isn’t the messiah; I’ll grant you that. However I’ll take Obama over McCain any day of the week.
Well we agree on the bailout Doug. Again the why are we here in the first place? Why does that always allude an answer by people who oppose McCain. Bush has not been a good President. Bush did not start this economic decline. The legislation was passed in 1998. Why when concerns were raised two years ago, did a Democrat controlled Congress not act? Why worry about the rich getting richer? You work hard for your money, so why give it to someone else rich or poor. I have no problem with work aid or loans. No more free rides. Obama wants your money to use as he sees fit.
Right, because Bill Clinton acted alone in passing the housing entitlement bill; never mind that the entire legislative branch was ran by the GOP. I forget that, in the reality that the Republican Spin Machine is selling, that the house and senate couldn’t have stopped the bill from the jump.
Look, I’m the first to admit that The Pelosi Senate is about as incompetent as The Bush Administration. I’d be a fool if I didn’t see it.
That’s not the point though. The point is that, in this election, we have a clear choice. We can either reward the GOP and allow them to slaughter the American Dream, or we can at least elect someone who can see that our lobotomized government needs some serious revamping.
If there was an actual republican in this race, I’d vote for him in a minute. The Republicans are not the party of small government anymore, they have become the Nationalist party that promotes fascism and religious imperialism.
I don’t worry about the rich getting richer; hell – I don’t want to end the exploitation, I want to become an exploiter. The problem, at least the way I see it, is that you simply can’t give the rich the keys to the car, and then expect the poor to pay the bill when they run it in to a tree.
Reaganomics doesn’t work. This foolish idea that wealth somehow trickles down from the rich to the poor didn’t make sense in the 80′s, and it doesn’t make sense now.
The vast majority of Americans are in the lower ranks of the middle class. You can preach all you want about how it’s not fair to expect the rich to spread the wealth around a little, but it just flat doesn’t make sense that the vast majority of the worlds assets belong to the select minority that were lucky enough for it to fall in to their laps.
It’s the middle class that built this country, and it’s the middle class that keeps this country running. The rich has been doing the economic equivalent of holding American’s heads under the water, and letting go just before they started to lose consciousness. For no other reason than to exploit them for their net worth, they’ve been pushing loans that make no sense once so ever, all the while selling it like it’s designed to help them move up from their station in life. And who’s left holding the bill? We are.
I heard one estimate that this $700Bil bail out, if it were given to the citizens instead of corporations, would give every single American of voting age $200,000 each. I say, if you want to stimulate the economy, you give it to the people so that the economic engine can adjust itself. Let the public decide which companies they want to do business with and which ones they don’t.
Not that it matters anyways. I’m afraid that we’re sacrificing our arm to save our leg. The Fed has ruined the value of the Dollar, we’re so far in debt to other nations as it stands that we’ll all be learning Japanese here before long.
At least if the government was doing its job in the first place, the rich and greedy wouldn’t have been able to squander in a decade what it took us almost two centuries to build.

I’m not blaming Clinton for the problem. I want to show that the problem was well before Bush. I am not defending Bush. You make a general statement about how the rich gave out these bad loans to poor people only to get richer. The community reinvestment act passed in 1998 forced banks to make getting a loan much easier. People that could not afford loans now had a chance to own a home. A bank will make around 80% of a homes value on a foreclosure. So a bank will lose on a foreclosure. Banks will do anything not to foreclose. So why would a bank give a loan to such a person? The bank would face charges of redlining and discrimination under the community reinvestment act. The banks lost money when these people didn’t pay and when they were forced to foreclose. The government got involved and we all got screwed in the end. Pelosi who is in the House by the way, and Barney Frank ridiculed any one on either side that said the act was killing banks. They said no it was the rich not wanting to give to the poor. No the government made this mess. There is no secret society of rich people who have meetings to screw poor people. They have a full time job managing their own problems.

There is currently 225 million people over 18 in the U.S. 700 billion divided by 225 million is $3111.12 per individual. I’ll take it, but it won’t help us anyway. You said you heard we would each get $200,000. What left wing media outlet or friend told you that?
Look, I listen to both sides. Although more importantly I research the issue. I don’t spout off just what I hear my friends or media say. I actually think you and I are much the same. We could rationally solve problems based on facts, not just how we are registered to vote. Unfortunatley we have to inform or argue with too many people who don’t want the truth. You and I as Republicans can bring back small government and The American Way.
Anyone notice how common sense and the truth will drive Obama supporters to keep quiet. If capitalsim doesn’t work, how did we become the most powerful nation and economy on earth?
